The last day of the February half term saw our 2nd Drop Down Day of the year. These are an excellent opportunity for our students to encounter cross-curricular projects, meet other students, and gain new experiences that we cannot normally offer on our normal curriculum.
Year 7 entered the borough’s sickle cell competition and the mayor of Waltham Forest came and paid us a visit! They also had a Greek/Arabic language experience – there wasn’t anybody that didn’t love the Arabic calligraphy and Greek dancing! Year 8 participated in a debate competition for the day and gained invaluable skills. Year 9 used the day to learn more about their Options process, to make informed choices about GCSE with Alumni guest speakers, taster sessions and looking at our Unifrog programme to discover what subjects and qualifications they need for their future. Finally, our Year 10 learned about budgeting and finance and how to read a pay check to help equip them with life beyond Bremer. They also participated in a science specific International Women’s Day where they had guest speakers from female STEM professionals as well as raised awareness of PCOS. It was an engaging and informative day for everyone and pupil feedback was extremely positive!
