Wellbeing at Bremer

Over the lockdown period, our students have been very busy with their schoolwork and entering our weekly wellbeing challenges! From January through to March, our students participated in our projects such as: Vision Boards for 2021, Nature Photography and enjoying the environment, and our Rainbow Bake-Off in honour of LGBTQ+ History Month. We’ve had cumulatively over 200 entries from across the school; but the prize for best participation went to form 8D who absolutely smashed each challenge!

Now we are back in school, the wellbeing curriculum has been focussed on Social Interaction and Online Friendships vs Real Life, Developing a Resilient and Positive Mindset, Motivation, and how writing/ journaling can help heal from trauma as part of our school-wide Pandemic Memoir project.

Our Youth Health Champions have been busy too, in addition to several of them applying for Head Student. They have nearly finished their coursework for their RSPH Level 2 Qualification in Youth Health, and delivered a successful online workshop for their forms for ‘Time to Talk’ day last half term.

I’ve been very impressed by the resilience, adaptability and creativity of our students and our school community over what has been a trying and unpredictable year. Well done to every single person who entered a wellbeing challenge – best work is now up in the year group zones for you to see!
