Drop Down Days

On Friday 12th February, Frederick Bremer showed again that there are no barriers to our students’ learning by hosting the very first virtual Drop Down Day.
Years 7 and 8 enjoyed a day which involved a carousel of tasks and working collaboratively across the year groups on a virtual Murder Mystery, an Escape Room featuring some of our teachers as the potential imposter and a court room style debate with a topical theme. Year 9 participated in a careers day and had some taster sessions of life at GCSE. Years 10 and 11 continued their normal lessons online until the end of the day when the whole school came together (including all the staff) for a whole school quiz – the Guess The Teacher Baby Picture round had everyone stumped! One Year 7 student exclaimed that it was ‘the best day ever’ and students loved working with others outside of their year group with a bit of friendly competition. We can’t wait for the next one in July when we can hopefully work across year groups in person!
