Holocaust Memorial Day

We commemorated Holocaust Memorial Day at Frederick Bremer in January across the school through assemblies delivered by Humanities leaders in Year 8 Dorina, Deimante, Azhar, Finn and Ruth and in Year 9 Rebecca, Julijah, Salasbil, Blessing, Barney and Hamad. These students also raised money by selling purple ribbons for the charity Refugee Action throughout the week..  We were fortunate enough for a visit from a Holocaust Survivor, Annick Lever, from the Holocaust Education Trust who came in a spoke to year 9 about her testimony and experience during the Holocaust. The year group were fantastic throughout her talk and asked her some really insightful questions about her experience. She said the students in year 9 were amazing and they truly were a credit to the school. A massive thank you to Mr Carryl for organising this event!

”I learnt that they had to pay for the yellow stars using coupons”
