Speak Out Challenge Champion

A huge congratulations to the winner of the regional final of the Speak Out competition, beating 17 students from schools across the Borough on Wednesday 20th November, voted by seven independent judges.
Her speech on the importance of her Jamaican heritage and the resilience of her Windrush generation grandparents arriving in the UK entitled ‘lickle but tallawah’ (small but mighty) was delivered with such passion and emotion, we were incredibly proud of her. You can watch her performance here.
The Jack Petchey “Speak Out” Challenge! is the world’s largest public speaking competition with over 20,000 pupils taking part across London and Essex, with only one pupil winning in each of the 37 boroughs that take part.
