Meeting the author was both an amazing and fun experience. We got to hear his poems read aloud and he even signed books for students! As the author of some of our favourite childhood books and poems it was really exciting to meet and get to know him! The poet was hilarious and easy to enjoy being with. He set us engaging exercises and activities, such as practising writing tactics on funny subjects. Neal Zetter showed us that a book or poem is actually 80% editing and only 20% base writing! The author then led on to a discussion about how the main subject of a story should always be unusual. After all, you’d much rather hear a story about a purple cheetah than a regular yellow cheetah! Overall, we learned a lot from our session and had a great day with Neal Zetter!
