School Lunches

Ensuring that your child has a wholesome and nourishing diet is important as this provides them with the fuel for their learning throughout the day and a healthy and nutritious lunch is an important element of this. We have worked hard to ensure that our school catering provider (Waltham Forest Catering) offers a wide range of nutritious hot and cold meals each day and we ask that you ensure that any food brought into school also meets these requirements, whether part of a packed lunch or otherwise.

If your child is using the school canteen then they will have a choice of hot and cold meals from the daily menu, including at least 1 vegetarian choice. Your child should be able to choose a main meal, dessert and a small bottle of water/milk from the daily menus for a cost of £2.68.

Your child will also have the opportunity to purchase mini pizzas, samosa, etc. at morning break and will need additional money on their account to do this. All meat in our school lunches is halal. Click on the link below to view our menu.

To help make things as simple as possible, we operate a cashless payment system which uses a PIN to enable them to access their account and pay for food bought from the school canteen. This PIN has been added into the School Gateway app.

If you have not previously downloaded and set up the School Gateway app,, information about how to do this can be found by clicking on the link.

Funds should be topped up electronically from a linked iPayImpact account, enabling you to manage the amount of money your child has available to spend in the canteen. Please allow 24 hours for this to register on your child’s account in school.

Fusion mobile app

Pupils can pre-order cold lunch options, such as sandwiches and baguettes. The Fusion mobile app lets you order and pay for food in advance using their mobile phones. The app is linked to the pupil’s iPayimpact account. This is a great way for parents/carers to manage spending and the food their child eats at school. Orders can be collected within the canteen area.

Parents/Pupils can:

  • check their balance
  • order food in advance
  • choose when they are ordering for
  • view their order

Please note: Orders must be placed by 8am on the day the food is required. However, you can order meals for the week in advance if you would prefer.

If your child gets free school meals a daily credit of £2.68 will be added to their account each school day.

This should be used to order their lunch. If they would like to purchase food for break time you will need to add credit to their iPayimpact account.

Downloading the Fusion app

You can download the Fusion app on the Apple App Store, get it on Google Play or by searching ‘Fusion Online’ on your app store. You will be sent an email to verify your email address. Please ensure you click the link to verify your email to complete the set-up process.

Once your account has been set up, you will be able to view your ParentPay balance, place orders and view orders already placed.

Note: You will need to set up the app for each child. The app is easy to use however if you run into any problems you can visit Fusion app online help to view a range of articles that should get you up and running in no time.

If your child is eligible, or you believe they are eligible, to receive Free School Meals then you will be required to complete an application via the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
