Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth. Even the all-powerful Pointing has no control about the blind texts it is an almost unorthographic life One day however a small line of blind text by the name of Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar.

WoW (Word of the Week)
Post Image

Our 'WOW' for this week is 'Silouhette'.

We all have experienced that moment when we search for just the right word to articulate exactly what we want to say. Here at Frederick Bremer we are working really hard to develop our vocabularies so that we are always ready with an appropriate word. Each week a new word is chosen to be added to our working vocabularies.

Our fantastic team of student librarians ensure the WoW is publicised around the school! Students are then encouraged to use the word in both their written and oral responses throughout the school. The words are all taken from a published list of a 100 words Grade 8/9 (A/A*) students should be familiar with and able to use confidently. We are aiming high! If you would like to join in the WoW it is always on our website. Perhaps you could surprise your child and use it at home!

On Thursday 20th October 2016, Frederick Bremer School gave a warm welcome to Dave Nash, who is an internationally recognised street artist. Dave Nash came to Frederick Bremer to do a memorial painting of Terry Sue Patt as part of Waltham Forest's Black History Month celebrations. Pupils at Frederick Bremer also engaged in Black History Month celebrations by getting creative in making their own 'Black Lives Matter' t-shirts.
